Unmasking Hypocrisy

Throughout the so-called pandemic, I have noticed public officials who were determined to make the public wear masks or obey other rules, while not obeying the same rules they make for us. The list of hypocrites is extensive; we will go over a few of them. I posted a mini gallery of a few hypocrites at reference 1.

When I first started out in the so-called pandemic, I did a video on Youtube showing hypocrites in various town board meetings not wearing the same masks that they want us to wear. Unfortunately, due to Youtube censorship, I can’t post it here as Youtube forced me to take down that and dozens of other videos, despite my double and triple checking my facts. Over time, many of those who are forcing people to wear masks, and those who support it, have been found ignoring the same rules that they establish for us. We will start with some fine dining at an expensive restaurant called the French Laundry.

San Fracisco mayor London Breed was caught on camera not wearing a mask, along with her entourage, at a hyper expensive restaurant known as the French Laundry. This was on November 7, 2020. ” Breed’s party of eight met at the famed restaurant on 7 November to celebrate the birthday of Gorretti Lo Lui, a local socialite whose husband, Lawrence Lui, is a major hotel developer, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.” (2) Incredibly, the arrogant governor of California had done the same thing the day before. The gatherings, while not technically in violation of orders by Newsom, cast the two politicians in a bad light.

Governor Ralph Northam took a tour of Virginia Beach without a mask, not wearing a mask while his subjects were forced to wear theirs. This is a man who would cite a church for having too many people in the congregation, while flaunting the rules he made. This is typical of what we have been seeing with these people.

At the height of the so-called pandemic, then governor Andrew Cuomo, while trying to keep New Yorkers from traveling, took a trip to Georgia for what was essentially a photo op. (4)

This arrogance apparently runs in the family. Andrew Cuomo’s brother, Chris Cuomo, who at that time worked for CNN, broke quarantine, having been diagnosed with the virus. He also got into an altercation with a cyclist who accused him of spreading the virus as he was out in public and he was sick. Obviously these people don’t take the virus as seriously as they expect us to. (5)

In Philadelphia the mayor there had his city’s restaurants closed. Mayor Jim Kenney rationalized this by pointing out that infection rates in nearby Maryland were less than in Philadelphia, and so arrogantly excused himself from any responsibility for his actions. (6) The equally arrogant Mayoral spokeswoman Deana Gamble had the unmitigated gall to say “Throughout the pandemic the Mayor has consistently deferred to the guidance of the Health Commissioner, who in this case felt strongly about waiting until Sept. 8 to resume indoor dining. If elected officials at the federal level had similarly deferred to health experts over the past five months, this might not even be an issue by now.” This is the epitome of hypocrisy, and these people do this without batting the proverbial eye.

Many politicians have urged Americans not to travel. Take the case of Denver Mayor Michael Hancock. He flew to Mississippi to see his daughter on Thanksgiving, infuriating many. How dare this man tell others to stay home while he was jetting all over the country? And those people are right. It is hypocrisy. (7) At the same time, this arrogant, hypocritical mayor banned Thanksgiving! His rationale was similar to the Philadelphia mayor: It was safer for him to visit his daughter rather than the other way around.

Dining seems all too frequently to be the biggest part of this hypocrisy. In Los Angeles county the supervisor was seen dining at her favorite restaurant, just before voting to shut down all restaurants in the county, all in the name of public safety.  Sheila Kuehl is her name, and the move predictably angered the public. Kuehl was unmoved by the public anger however. This arrogant public official even had the nerve to call it a “hard decision”. (8)

Just recently, some real winners were in the football stadium. Basketball star Magic Johnson was seen with Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti and governor Newsom. They and others were not wearing masks. The arrogant Garcetti said that he encourages all Californians to do their part and mask up. (9)

I have saved the best for last. Stacy Abrams, an obese Georgia politician who would be in greater danger from the virus because of her obesity, was caught on camera recently maskless with a large group of schoolchildren, completely unapologetic for this. (10, 11) Her campaign manager said that it was so children viewing online could hear her.

The arrogance of these people is beyond belief it’s true, but it is also true that this points to a bigger issue. That issue is a class of people who view us as peasants, and themselves as royalty. It is the arrogance of power. It is what we once fought a revolution to end. Now we have it again, and a virus that is treatable but is one of the keystones to the royalty keeping their power.
